Accessing the Dashboard

LiveSurvey has two supported ways to authenticate users:

LiveSurvey recommends using SSO to authenticate employees. Using SSO, each employee gets access immediately: there is no need to create and manage individual accounts for each and every user. With SSO, you control the path to LiveSurvey - generally, only users using your network can get to it. By using Active Directory, you avoid creating another place with user information that must be updated. When a user's title changes, for instance, only Active Directory needs to be updated - not both Active Directory and LiveSurvey.

LiveSurvey also supports an option we call Remote Access. In this scenario, each user is created by a LiveSurvey administrator, and each user logs into LiveSurvey with their email address and password they choose. No SSO is required for remote access users, and users can log in from anywhere.

To learn more about setting up SSO, see the section on SSO next. Otherwise, to learn about remote access users, see the section on remote access. Also, see the permissions page to learn about one of three roles each user is assigned in LiveSurvey: admin, manager, and staff.
